If you are interested in joining a choir, you will be made most welcome at St. Peter's, where the choir sings at the Sunday morning and evening services. A weekly practice is held each Friday (7.45 - 9.00 p.m.). An anthem/introit is sung at nearly every service. If you wish to join us, or require further information, please use the 'contact' page on this website. We ask that you try to attend the practice and one of the services on a weekly basis.
The Deanery Choir provides an opportunity for members from church choirs and singers in the Burnley area to sing evensong once monthly at St. Peter's or other local churches. Dates are given below and all music is provided on the day; dress is smart casual. There is no official membership or fee, just turn up on the day and enjoy the music!

Deanery Choir
Having sung Stanford in C and Farrant's Call to Remembrance on Sunday 9th November at St Peter's Church, Burnley, we now take a winter break. However, choir singers are welcome to attend Carols for Burnley on Sunday 21st December and should meet in the vestry at 3 p.m. on this day ahead of the 4 p.m. service.
Our next Deanery Choir meeting is Sunday 8th February 2009. Singers should attend by 4.30 p.m. on the day and the service will begin at 6 p.m. All music and refreshments are provided free of charge. Full details including venue to follow shortly.
We have also been invited to sing at Blackburn Cathedral in 2009. Again, details to follow.
